Pull Up & Play returns to the PG Sports & Learning Complex on May 9, 2026, from 2–5 PM, offering free sports clinics, music, and community resources. This is a free event. Registration is required at pullupfund.org/play.
Advancing College Affordability Advising through AI
This session will bring together stakeholders who support 12th-grade students—including financial aid officers, admissions teams, guidance counselors, and college and career coordinators—to align strategies and strengthen how we collectively support students and families in understanding and navigating the cost of higher education.
Maryland Financial Education and Capability Commission
MCCFW participates in the Commission which went into effect on October 1, 2012, and is chaired by Senator Benjamin Brooks (District 10- Baltimore County) and Delegate Dana Stein (District 11 – Baltimore County). The Commission is staffed by the nonprofit CASH Campaign of Maryland. Learn more.
GEARS for BEARS
GEARS (Graduate Exit and Repayment Strategies) is a student-centered program by Maryland Center for Collegiate Financial Wellness that prepares graduates to successfully manage student loan repayment. It enhances traditional exit counseling by helping students understand their loans, explore options, and choose a personalized strategy based on their finances, career plans, and eligibility—before their first payment is due.

Black women are often cited as the most educated population in the nation. However, with much education comes much expense, often in the form of student loans.
Today’s students need a proactive and personalized approach to managing student loans and unlocking their potential to build wealth.
This presentation will cover current events in student loan repayment and provide expert guidance to help borrowers develop a personalized repayment strategy and conquer student loan debt. Attendees will learn how to:
confirm the total amount and status of all their student loans,
evaluate repayment plans for federal student loans,
determine eligibility for federal student loan benefits including loan forgiveness, and
keep their loans in good standing and on the path to a zero balance
McDaniel College Carroll County Scholars
Carroll County Scholars is a program for high school students who reside in Carroll County, Maryland, that helps them and their families begin preparing for college at no cost, while making them eligible for a guaranteed scholarship to McDaniel College (participating scholars are not required to commit to or enroll at McDaniel).
